#AuditInActionDay
24 September 2020
2020 has thrown a lot of curveballs our way – as humans and auditors. When the COVID-19 crisis began to threaten our economy, auditors and accountants answered the call and continued their commitment to providing high-quality financial information and to providing stability to our capital markets.
To recognize this, the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) launched Audit in Action (AiA), a sustained and ongoing campaign focused on the multi-dimensional role of auditors. From leading through crisis to promoting stability during COVID-19, from assuring new types of information like ESG to promoting diversity in the profession, auditors do it all.
► The Audit in Action campaign and activation day demonstrates the important work and the resilience of auditors.
► It’s no secret that our day-to-day lives have been tremendously impacted, whether by loss or fear or profound change. We’re proud that amid this uncertainty, the profession hasn’t missed a beat.
► Auditors have quickly adapted to the new normal of remote auditing while remaining laser-focused on audit quality.
► Auditors have served as a key link in the financial reporting and communication ecosystem. They are in regular communications with the regulators, Audit Committees and Boards, and company management to raise awareness of and address issues.
